Odyssey on TV

Yes, it's in the works, but not in English

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

Odyssey on TV

Post by OdysseyFan »

Following Paul McCusker's recent trip to India to help create "Adventures in Odyssey" for Indian TV, filming has now begun in Hyderabad. Once completed, this TV version of Odyssey could reach many millions of kids in India.

Considering I already watch a lot of stuff with subtitles.....
Who do I belong To? Not Earth, Not world, Not Evil, Not mortals, Not wretches, Not horrors

Who do I belong to? Unchanging. Unbreaking. Unfailing. Creator. Immortal. Eternal

Surrender to the sound.

That sounds pretty cool, though I almost had to check the date to see if it was April 1. ;) I would definitely watch something like that at least once to see if I liked it. Subtitles don't bother me at all, so that wouldn't be a problem.

Filming, not animating? Interesting... as that suggests real people playing the characters. And will there be the same characters as the radio show, or some new ones like the videos? Hmm...

I think I'd watch it. But I'd rather have a version in English. :D Ooh! Here's where the quote came from: http://www.paulmccusker.com/mccusker%20blue%201_046.htm

I wonder why he decided to do a TV version rather than just translating the radio episodes to indian.

Probably because the radio show takes place in small town America, which an Indian audience doesn't relate to. The tv show might just be set up like the radio show but with Indian actors.

Ya... maybe there's an alternate version of Odyssey in India, and, like, instead of ice cream, Whit's End sells rice! And Connie is probably late all the time because the cows in her neighborhood keep blocking the road! :D

So everyone is hindu? That wouldn't be good. (...or something that Paul McCusker would write)

I don't think that FotF would support a tv show that supports Hinduism. And now you've given me a funny picture in my head of Connie having four arms like one of the Hindu goddesses. Thanks a lot.
