Sometimes girls wonder why young men won't hold the door for them. I've heard it said that the lady has to BE a lady and ALLOW the man to be a gentleman.
Not that we can't do it, it's all about respect. We, ladies, are the weaker vessel (as the Bible says) and the men need to know they are the stronger gender.

Success is to stand in the presence of God, unashamed.
I appreciate it when people hold the door for me when I'm carrying stuff,... and if I get a chance, I hold the door open for ladies.
Although some take offense at it, and some just ignore me like I was a really ugly stack of bricks or a permanent doorstop or something.
Most of them thank me

I try to make a point of saying thank you, so if you ever open the door for me I'll say thanks. Thanks in advance! See, I like people opening the door for me, because when I open it for myself, sometimes if it opens towards me, I open it and walk into it. Which is not funny. Much.
Britt-Votin' went off real smooth. Not but one shootin', and that turned out to be just a flesh wound.

How in the world could a girl, who is in her right mind do that? Just plain mean if I do say so myself
You are definitely not an ugly stack of bricks...nor are you a doorstop
I would never ignore you, in fact you'd probably get a kiss for holding the door open for me

I tend to hold the door for anyone who's walking in behind me, girl or guy. But this fall I'm taking some part-time classes at a local college, and the college is very pro-feminism. I haven't had an opportunity yet to open a door for anyone there, but I'm very curious to see what happens when I do.

I find the notion of premarital kissing highly offensive.
And also I think its rude to hold doors for women, because it is insulting them and insinuating that they are too weak to do so themselves.

I'm sorry you're so offended. Just don't go and have a lamb, or people might call you Mary.
