Guys Holding Doors

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

I always thank the person that holds the door for me.

I do wait sometimes to see if a man is going to hold the door.

I'm normally pretty surprised. :)

I'm usually the one who holds the door open and waits until the whole crowd enters the building, which can be very inconvenient at school. But I enjoy waiting until they're in the building and yelling, "You're welcome!" at them if they never thank me.
Everything written in this post is false.

Sometimes girls wonder why young men won't hold the door for them. I've heard it said that the lady has to BE a lady and ALLOW the man to be a gentleman.
Not that we can't do it, it's all about respect. We, ladies, are the weaker vessel (as the Bible says) and the men need to know they are the stronger gender. :sun:

I appreciate it when people hold the door for me when I'm carrying stuff,... and if I get a chance, I hold the door open for ladies. :-k

Although some take offense at it, and some just ignore me like I was a really ugly stack of bricks or a permanent doorstop or something. :anxious:

Most of them thank me \:D/

I try to make a point of saying thank you, so if you ever open the door for me I'll say thanks. Thanks in advance! See, I like people opening the door for me, because when I open it for myself, sometimes if it opens towards me, I open it and walk into it. Which is not funny. Much.

How in the world could a girl, who is in her right mind do that? Just plain mean if I do say so myself :noway:

You are definitely not an ugly stack of bricks...nor are you a doorstop :noway:

I would never ignore you, in fact you'd probably get a kiss for holding the door open for me :inlove:

I sometimes just don't remember to say thank you because people do it so much, but I'll start now.

I always open the door for anyone of the female gender, especially if they are walking in front of me or behind me, even if they are annoyed by me, which happens alot.

Most of the time I don't mind, it just annoys me when guys get annoyed when I don't wait for them to open it. Which doesn't happen much...infact, I think it only happens with my dad. :p

I tend to hold the door for anyone who's walking in behind me, girl or guy. But this fall I'm taking some part-time classes at a local college, and the college is very pro-feminism. I haven't had an opportunity yet to open a door for anyone there, but I'm very curious to see what happens when I do.

I demand that you post what happens when you do. *hopes you get mobbed* :D

I don't see why people get so bent out of shape, it's just sweet.

I find the notion of premarital kissing highly offensive. :noway:

And also I think its rude to hold doors for women, because it is insulting them and insinuating that they are too weak to do so themselves. :noway:

I'm sorry you're so offended. :( Just don't go and have a lamb, or people might call you Mary. :anxious:
