2007 Summer Blockbusters!!!!!
Which will make the most money!? Which are you most excited about!?
It looks like all the big threequals released in May (Pirates, Spidey, Shrek) were came out too close together and ate into each others profits.
What helps a movie make tons and tons of money is not just how many people go to see it, but how many people to go see it more than once.
With so many movies coming out once after the other that people want to see, there isn't much chance for multiple viewings (which is why Titantic is still the #1 and will probably be for a very long time. Besides the fact that nearly every teenager and adult went to see it, It didn't have to compete against any other popular movies when it was released).
It looks as though Transformers and HP5 just might win this summer.

I hearby declare Spider-man 3 the winner, looking at current trends that pretty much is how it is going to end up...
Transformers is losing steam but they only need like $5 to beat Pirates 3 so it looks like that will be #2 of the summer with Pirates at #3.

Ah, well why didn't he say so?JesusIsAlive wrote:I think he means that spidey 3 is first on the charts.jasonjannajerryjohn wrote:No no Top, PotC is the winner. Plus, it's my favorite out of all the ones there!
Peri: Do you mean the TARDIS is malfunctioning again?
The Doctor: Malfunctioning? [pause] Malfunctioning? MALFUNCTIONING!?
Check out the poll - that's what this whole thread is about. The poll question is about what movie people think will make the most money. The results prove that a lot of us were probably wrong. He probably thought that it was unneccesary to state the obvious.jasonjannajerryjohn wrote:Ah, well why didn't he say so?JesusIsAlive wrote:I think he means that spidey 3 is first on the charts.jasonjannajerryjohn wrote:No no Top, PotC is the winner. Actually I somehow missed Shrek the Third... it managed to get the #2 spot. So Pirates is out of the top 3 (Domestic)!
I refuse to acknowledge Worldwide tallies because the United States is all that really matters.

So....the (almost) 1 billion dollars that Pirates 3 earned worldwide "doesn't matter"?Shadowpaw wrote:I refuse to acknowledge Worldwide tallies because the United States is all that really matters.
Actually, worldwide totals included, Pirates and Harry Potter are 1 and 2, with Spider-Man in third place....

Shame. Shame.

I'm actually surprised at Shrek the third...it's absence of actual plot was supposed to be its downfall but I suppose their are enough soccer children out there.Shadowpaw wrote:Actually I somehow missed Shrek the Third... it managed to get the #2 spot. So Pirates is out of the top 3 (Domestic)!
