For going to the beach, there was a statistical difference of .422. Learning a language was .681, while voluntary work was .485. Walking or biking had a difference of .439, and transport to destination was .071. Going to events gave a statistical difference of .592, and night life was .055. Eating out’s statistical difference was .278, while sightseeing’s was .761. For visiting musuems, the chi square test was .533. Shopping, however, had a statistical difference of .034—meaning it is the only variable to have a relation based on gender.
257 respondents said that no, shopping when abroad was not a benefit or advantage, and 117 of them (45.5%) were male, while 54.5% (140 respondents) were female. Conversely, only 35.6% of the respondents were male and said that yes, shopping was a benefit. This was 127. Female respondents were 64.1%, making up 229 of the respondents who found shopping when abroad to a benefit. The relationship seems easy to explain—women are generally more fond of taking the opportunity to go shopping when abroad, with many advertisements being prominently targeted towards female. The other activities were, in genral, not particularly slanted towards one gender either way.
In conclusion, with the exception of shopping, none of the activities were perceived as benefits in a significant manner by either gender, since there was no significant statistical difference.
