Man, talk about drama. I think the parents would blow up in they scripted that in.

theres a fun in depth look at life at a young age.

you can learn a lot from job 38-42, being humble isn't the easiest but its worth it.

ok guys... I didn't mean to start a war here... I just repeated what a guy said on facebook. I wouldn't want her to get pregnant either!! lol
Oh, I realise that and I'm not blaming you at all. I just couldn't believe that people would suggest something like that for someone who is supposed to be serving the Lord.AshleyWhittaker wrote:ok guys... I didn't mean to start a war here... I know... but it wouldn't make her less of a Christian, would it? I mean, Christians mess up sometimes. I know 2 women who had kids before marriage and they are both strong Christians... they knew they messed up and repented of that. Maybe that's what's gonna happen?Samitude wrote:Oh, I realise that and I'm not blaming you at all. I think that problem is that kids would wonder what the problem is with Connie having a baby before she's married. Whether they believe that pregnancy is something that occurs naturally after marriage or something only married couples are capable of, the scandal it would cause would make it obvious that Connie had done something wrong, and that would lead to even more questions that parents don't want to answer. That's how I see the situation at least. The reason I didn't let my sister listen to Pamela Has A Problem when she was really little wasn't that there's anything inappropriate, but rather that I felt that someone getting chastised for becoming pregnant outside of marriage doesn't leave a whole lot of leverage for "slightly-less-than-true" explanations that a parent might otherwise deliver.
There is, of course, the option that it's not Connie's fault, but that is an option that will never, ever be considered.

I guess I should have clarified that I also think it would be a terrible idea, mainly because Connie has been historically a role model type of character.Jesus' Princess wrote:I don't think my parents would, but I don't think it would be a good idea.Jimmy Barclay wrote:Man, talk about drama. Or at least *recent* history. Technically speaking, Connie was originally created to be a bit of an antagonist.

Well now that COULD be an interesting twist...........but does bring up a separate set of issues so I do not think they would go that route either, though it IS the best scenario for Connie being pregnant. The Top Crusader wrote:Connie will be the surrogate mother for Eugene and Katrina!

I know of a small town in Texas who had a 17 year old pregnant girl show up on their doorstep one morning. Totally repentent and asking for help, not just a hand out. The church embraced her and helped her raise her child. I think the child was 2 or 3 when I heard this. Now, I could see that happening with a character that got pregnant, "off the mike" so to speak. Showing how people can repent, be forgiven, the church come along side them to support them and their decision to keep their child, etc. But with a new character not one that has become a role model (even an imperfect one....)

Meaning the Vegietales reference?
What I am most interested in is Shona. I hope they give her a real role in at least one episode, not just one of those more cameo-like things.

Connie probably isn't going to be pregnant and when the album comes out we're all going to look back at this and laugh...
