But the books keep getting darker and darker and the movies reflect that. By the same token there are some pretty dark Christian books that I don't read because they're too dark. Also if you were to read the original Faerie Tales you'd find that they are dark. Harry Potter just follows this tradition.

Right, but don't expect too many new movies next year. It looks like the studios and directors are willing to cut their losses at this point.

I enjoyed this episode. If it was indeed Walker who recorded Tom's lines you can tell he's weary. As with Bart perhaps it was a case that Walker tried to do it, but just didn't have enough energy and they found someone last minute to do them rather than rewrite the script. Bart is a high energy char...

Man Vs Wild Parody

Because of the snow my church decided to have a little fun. There comes a point where you just have to make fun of all the snow we've gotten here in Michigan.

Actually guys, this episode was modeled after a radio show from NPR called This American Life hosted by Ira Glass. From what I remember of the radio show this ep was very similar to it. This American Life goes around the country to random towns and interviews people, tells their story, or tells the...

I'd have to hear it a little more to give my impressions. I knew it was Bart. The accent is good. The voice seems slightly lower, but I'd have to hear that clip in context. My inital impression is that it's not a bad match, but we'll wait and see.

well if the Tolkien estate takes the rights away from New Line then it won't matter who's directing it because it won't be happening.

My guess is they would be using information from the Sillmerilion and Unfinished Tales to bridge the time between when Bilbo got the ring to the time he passed it on to Frodo. I would also wager that we learn more of Aragorn in that movie. Edit: ok I know I was the last person to post on this thread...

Well it's looking like there's an end in sight. There has been an interim deal struck between the writers and the studios. What that is I don't know, but at least the end is in sight.

Writer Strike

While most of us have had to deal with watching reruns because of this strike it struck a personal note yesterday. My sister was going to be hired by Sony Image Works ( Surfs Up ) and was looking forward to leaving snowy Michigan for California in a few weeks. She got a call from them yesterday sayi...

I've got a blogspot account. I've found that it's nice to have a blog because I have friends spread out all over the place and I don't talk to them as much. However by reading their blogs I get to know what's going on with them and vis versa. So when I do see them there is something to talk about. B...

I wear it more than I used to. Mostly on Sundays or if I'm going to a social event. I go the Bare Minerals make-up so I"m more inclined to wear it because you don't use a lot of it and it doesn't feel like you're wearing make-up at all.

Pullman was saying that he wasn't going to let the story's atheistic message be glossed over in the next two movies. That's only dependent on if there's a next movie.

Enchanted

Ok I've got to say this movie is great. I remember watching the trailer and thinking that this movie has the potential to be either really awesome or really terrible. I can't wait for this to come out on DVD.
