How is this series by the way?
It's great! I couldn't put it (the first one) down, and I can't wait to read the next one!

Re: Twilight or Harry Potter

Someday, I'd like to write something editorial-ish on this topic. Until then, I will say, based on my recent experience of rereading the final book, you can grow closer to God through reading the Harry Potter books -- Christian parallels (at least some of which are definitely intended), profound, th...

Re: What books are you reading?

I've been on a book-reading rampage the last week: Persuasion (Jane Austen), And Then There Were None (Agatha Christie), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows , and The Hunger Games . On the other end of the spectrum, I'm a chapter away from finishing Mere Christianity , which I started at the beginn...

Re: 671: Fast As I Can

I wasn't planning on writing any episode reviews right away, but I had so many thoughts about this episode -- and wrote them down because my spreadsheet was handy -- that it made sense to share them here too. ~*~ I just finished a week-long break from Facebook, the ToO, and other "entertainment...

Re: When did AIO's 'Golden Age' end?

I would say it ended with album 28. Album 29 was like album 51 on a smaller scale (the kids were replaced, but all the adults stuck around). There were a lot of good episodes between albums 29 and Novacom, but 29 was a new beginning of sorts. As far as when the "golden era" started, that's...

Re: Les Miserables Fans

I finally read the unabridged version a year or so ago, and loved it. I understand why there are abridged versions, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I listened to the FOTF radio theatre version immediately after finishing the book ... probably not the best move, considering how critical I a...

I won one too! It totally surprised me because I'd forgotten all about it. ... Too bad the copy I ordered has already arrived, been unwrapped, and its contents ripped to my computer. :anxious:

Here's a not-so-serious one (still a true story though): Thanks to The Cubicle Next Door by Siri Mitchell, I now only rarely use lids and straws with my fountain drinks. \:D/

Re: Left Behind

I've read all 12 of the main adult series, and at least a couple of the prequels. Concerning the adult series, I only read most of those once, and that was awhile ago. I've listened to the dramatic audio quite a bit, though -- as recently as this summer, and do have some decided opinions on the seri...

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm reading C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity a chapter a day (finally!), and have started a solo study on Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. And that's in addition to textbooks.

Yay, two of the bands that were on my cruise ship way back when! \:D/

They're both cool, though I've probably heard more Skillet songs than Kutless songs.

Re: Han Solo!

Lizzie, great memory! I totally forgot about that. That sounds like a Frank-written description...unless I'm forgetful, but I don't think that I wrote it, so that means it was Frank or maybe even Lizzie herself who wrote that brilliant stuff. Though Han is obviously much dreamier and far superior i...

Yay, Trent! \:D/

I like Trent's tendency of getting out of his comfort zone ... even if it takes a little while (examples: "Blood, Sweat and Fears," "Called on in Class").

Re: What books are you reading?

I'm reading Pride and Prejudice right now, and I just recently saw a P&P play. So Mr. Darcy hasn't been too far from my mind. That reminds me of last summer, when Trent's name was changed to Mr. Darcy (by yours truly). They really have so much in common (I am, of course, talking about super-kind...
