Moving all TV to digital frees up airwaves, I believe. Indeed it does. The DTV spec requires less bandwidth than current analog transmissions. As a result, when the transition to DTV occurs, the FCC will be auctioning off the part of the spectrum that will no longer be used for television signals. ...

Press f8 right when when Windows loading screen comes up (or rather, right before it does. I often mistime, so I just keep hitting it through the POST operation, until the menu comes up). Should be a piece of cake to access the admin account from there. As an aside, how's x64 treating you? Any issue...

Well, if you have a computer that will properly run it, it is not slow in the least. And I think the security thing isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is. That's exactly the problem. The system requirements are ridiculous. It's an operating system, not Crysis. It shouldn't need that much power to r...

Why doesn't anyone other than me enjoy Vista? It's awesome! \:D/ It thinks it's smarter than you are. The built in security is ridiculous, asking you for approval every five seconds. The implementation of the TCPIP stack is AWFUL. It's a system resource hog. The GUI is unnecessarily complex, and tr...

I just ordered all the bits for a quad-core (Q6600) box with 4Gb of DDR2 1066 Dual Channel RAM... I should be rocking it by the end of the week. And yes, it's a PC. Cost???? Either way I envy you :noway: Hovering just under $1500 when all is said and done. I'll be using an old video card an...

Yay, a Me sighting \:D/ My issue is simply the time. VHS had a run for, what, 15 years or so. DVD's haven't had 10 years yet. It's just too soon to switch over with the prices that high. HD DVD makes by far the most sense from a consumer's stand point, even if Blu Ray is better technology. Couldn't...

While backwards compatibility is certainly a factor in the changeover to the next generation of content delivery, I maintain that it is not nearly as important as price, and content. Looking at the technical specifications, Blu-Ray is the superior format. It boasts vastly increased capacity, etc. It...

If you can get a real person on the other end of the line, they're pretty cool about letting you activate again if you tell them you've erased the other drive. My solution to the problem is to maintain the number of licenses I need, but install a corporate or cracked version to dodge the activation....

Actually Macs have the advantage that windows users dont. That being sad, it also makes macs More of a snobby industry, Heres Why: Mac users, can run xp, on their macs ;). Anyone ready to go to bootcamp ? Haha yeah. Its a load of poop that Mac users can fulfil their Windows needs, but when The Wind...

I've grown up with PCs, but I'm currently looking to get a MacBook. I prefer PC when it comes to general use (mainly because it's what I'm used to), but since I'm looking into pursuing some sort of video production, I want a Mac (editing on a PC tends to kill the computer). ;) That's just because y...

Yay! I can finally comment on this thread. With all the hype for Ultimatum, I figured I'd better do some research. So I got the original trilogy (the books), and read them in the space of a week. Promptly on finishing them, I rented the first two movies, and watched them last night. That was one of ...
