Re: Odyssey + the Real World
So on NCIS last night the dead guy's name was Gunnery Sargeant Travis Wooten. Immediately, I thought, "Wooten Bassett is in the Marines?" Wouldn't that be so weird (and hilarious!)? Somehow, I don't think they'd let him in...

Re: Odyssey + the Real World
Today we passed a clock tower and I thought of the "Mystery of the Clock Tower" episode.

"Somebody get the Jones family some chicken soup!" Connie yells. I think the stress of planning everything got to her. I love the 8-track tape part. I liked this episode, but I also felt it could have had a bit more depth. I rate this a 3 and a half/5

Re: Is British spelling better than American spelling?
I have a tendency to alternate between the two. Subconciously, I have a tendency to use British, but then my spell check reminds me that I'm in America (ironically, I've never even been to England).

Re: 677: The Malted Milkball Falcon
Did anyone else think of Broken Window? Yes! I was totally thinking that! It is very similar, but the plot is different enough that it doesn't bug you too much. Personally, I loved Jay's line where he said "I didn't do anything wrong this time! I totally admitted what I did!" That cracked...

Re: 675: A Thankstaking Story
I enjoyed it. It was nice to hear a spoof on the Grinch, which isn't done very often anywhere. The situation was funny too. Why is it that people always seem to be trapped at Whit's End during a bad storm? Also, I loved the ending. It was a nice salute to us older Odyssey fans.

I was watching Psych last night and one of the actresses looked like Katie Leigh. It wasn't her, but it sure looked like her.

Some guy is coming to wash our windows, and immediately I thought "I wonder if he uses a squeege like Bernard Walton". And I can't help but think of Connie every time I drink hot chocolate.

So this guy came to my church tonight and he did a dramatization of Saul (aka Paul), as Saul. It reminded me of the episodes about Paul, mostly the first one, though. He was very good, the impersonator.

Re: Odyssey + the Real World
My church has been doing a series called "Approval Junkie" and we have a skit before the sermon which leads into what we're going to hear about. So last Sunday, in the skit, there was a button (it looked like an Easy Button) that one guy would press and it would say stuff like, "You'r...

Every time I watch "Suite Life On Deck" with my sibs, I am reminded of Mrs. Neitchu (sp?), the teacher of Trent. The teacher on that show has her voice.

Re: Odyssey + the Real World
So yesterday, when I was watching "Pistachio" with my little sibs, the silly song was called "Where have all the staplers gone?" and it cracked me up, because at the end, it said "Stay tuned to hear the rest of the musical in act 2: Revenge of the staplers" Immediately,...

I was watching the beginning of the TV show "Psych" and it was showing a flashback of a character-Spencer- being taught by his cop father how to escape the trunk of a car if he was ever locked in one. Immediately, my mind flew to the AIO episode where Mitch is talking about how to escape t...

Last week I was on vacation at a hotel with a soda shop. It reminded me of Whit's End. Yesterday, I was at Half-Price books and saw a cd album with the artist The Pool Boys (I nearly bought it). I also watched part of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and noticed the main character's name...

Re: I Dream of Eugenie - Dreams About Adventures in Odyssey
Two nights ago, I dreamt I was in Focus on the Family's Whit's End (which looked strangely like the inside of my church but distorted) and Bob and Jesse (from the official podcast) were chasing me around. Eventually I went down the slide and Jesse somehow fell on top of me. Bob and Jesse apologized,...

Re: The Screwtape Letters
I finally got ahold of a copy yesterday and have been listening to it since. It's great! I'm surprised I was able to sleep last night. This will probably hold me over until album 51 comes out. BTW, where can I get ahold of the Last Chance Detectives audio series? I never heard of it until this year....
