Can You Do a Filmmaker a Favor?

Hey, so I've been looking for scholarships and entering contests trying to get money to pay for school. Turns out there is a poetry contest online I'm trying to win. Winning poem of the month is $250, but winning poem of the year is $5,000. It all depends on who gets the most ratings on their poem. ...

Re: Bridge the Gap (my short film)

I shot two scenes in that film!! 8-) But I don't like taking much credit for it... :- Ardent Filmer, (my sister) I can't wait to see the makings of your next film. ;) You mean you shot 2 "frames." Scene would indicate a whole 2 or 3 minute piece of the film that progressed the story forwa...

Re: Bridge the Gap (my short film)

Uh, for the record, I worked with a professional with the score. He knew what he was doing and so did I. Having music for every second of a film generally is NOT a good idea. Also, we were film student working on this project...I appreciate the comments but, it feels a little cocky of you to be 15 ...

Re: Bridge the Gap (my short film)

Comments The opening music is very catchy, and I really like the shots of him running. The "this could've been so easy" scene is fantastic. I'm tried filmmaking scenes like that, and I know how hard it can be. Excellent camera work and acting. I noticed the 'buzzing' sound towards the beg...

Bridge the Gap (my short film)

This is my first real short film with actors. It has been submitted to several film festivals where I live. It's about two troubled teens who lose hope in themselves but find it again in each other. Click the first link to watch it on facebook or watch the youtube version. Facebook is better quality...

Re: Life, life

Well, I went on a run and found a wheelchair. I then dragged it back to my house and looked ridiculous the whole time. I also found a mysterious pair of men's underwear on the side of the road. That is the second time something that disturbing with underwear has occurred. I am also realizing there i...

Re: Amateur Filmmakers WANTED!

Well, I just really need some fellow filmmakers to assist me in my creation of short films. This, of course, means you'd have to actually live in the Lynchburg, VA area. We'd have to be working together in person. Sometimes I need to direct scenes and I can't direct and hold the camera at the same t...

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Hoodie

Once upon a time there was a hoodie. It was a really cool hoodie–-red and gray stripes, naturally, but the colors weren’t blinding or bright. Its color was softer and faded. It was too thin to keep anyone warm, but it hugged my waist and arms like it was supposed to be on me. I had gotten the hoodi...

A Director's Dirge

I live in a little place I like to call Loserville. I call it that because I can read my town like a book. Unfortunately, I hate reading and it's a very bad and boring book with no real climax. The most exciting thing to do in my town is to light bags of dog dung and throw them on people's porches. ...
