Re: There is a new ToOer baby

Naming kids is hard. :( Not only are they stuck with whatever struck your fancy at the time, they're also judged for the rest of their existence by that thing that you use to call them in for dinner. It's really not fair. And because every new parent loves to show off their cute kid (and handsome hu...

Re: Celebrate the ToO by sharing what it means/has meant to you!

It really messes with your mind when your husband walks up to you while you're feeding your baby chicken broccoli surprise (okay, they were peas) and tells you that the ToO is turning 10 years old. And then you realize that that strange evening on December 14th, 2005 when you stumbled upon your firs...

Re: NaNoWriMo

Ahhh, the sweet smell of December 1st. Inched past the 50k finish line, this year, word padding being the only reason that my official word count is 50,091. DON'T JUDGE ME. But I finished the story, I earned myself some printed copies, and I beasted through November for the 5th year in a row. Congra...

Re: NaNoWriMo

Congratulations on reaching the finish line, Petrichor! May your dreams be sweet. I wrote 10k over the past two days, and the momentum has given me the motivation I needed to try another 2d10k. Hopefully by tomorrow night, I'll be validating with the best of them. \:D/ Keep chuggin' away, everyone! ...

Re: NaNoWriMo

I believe in you guys. I finally hit 30k today, after a week's interruption by reality. It was mind-numbing.

But no matter how far behind you are, the important thing is that you've written more this month than you did before you started. And that's something to be proud of. \:D/

Re: The story of Hubert Cumberdale. RIP dear friend.

:( I'm sorry about Hubert, Bean. I was never a 'sob over pets dying' kind of person until just recently when I attempted to relive my childhood by purchasing a turtle for comfort purposes. It died within twenty-four hours. As did his replacement. It still depresses me to think about it. :( *hugs Bean*

They just want you to *think* they're gone. So they can act like they have some sort of life, or something.

They really check the threads everyday, constantly hitting the refresh button so they don't miss anything. O:)

Re: NaNoWriMo

I reached midnight tonight with only 49,042 words. Awh! I'm so sorry. But it's still really cool that you wrote 50,000 words in such a short amount of time. Besides, the only 'real prize' NaNo gives out is a free printed copy of your book. Which you can just pay $20 for if it would make you happy. ...

Re: I miss....

I think having a few oldbies around to get nostalgic about 'the glory days' is what makes a message board like this as amazing as it ever was, and still is. To think that those 'oldbies' were once 15 and 16 year olds trying to figure out life... and now they're raising their own children? And if The...

Re: NaNoWriMo

I want to read them  And mine is. . .lame. =P Don't worry. This is my fourth year doing NaNo, and I have yet to think the mess I wind up with on November 30th is anything less than embarrassing. But that's not the point! Be proud of the masterpiece you've created. You did it uniquely, and bett...

Anyone a 50k reacher this year?!

The two girls from my school that did it with me this year crossed the finish line today. Yay for chocolatey celebrations! \:D/

The Twitter Word Sprints are my equivalent to a night life, these days. Yay for barely getting by!

I'm really looking forward to Week 3, though. Great things always happen in Week 3. \:D/

Re: NaNoWriMo

Honestly, whether it's summer or not won't make much of a difference. :P Yes it would. :-s I barely have time for my required school work this term, there is absolutely no way I could write thousands of extra words a day. I'm a sophomore in college and work a few hours under full time and I still f...

25,000 words in five days. It can be done. Wow... That's a LOT. You're a beast, Amy. I'm impressed. \:D/ I saw some kid on the forums had 43 k today. I'm struggling to keep up this year. WHERE ARE MY WORDS, BRAIN. WHERE. I did some of the Twitter word sprints last night. They're...

It doesn't matter how 'far behind' you are. What matters is that you're writing more than you would, otherwise, and having fun doing it. \:D/

Re: NaNoWriMo

There were 200,500 participants last year. On one little AIO board, seven or eight people are participating (if the oldies who have always done this are still... doing this).

A whole lot of someones are doing this. \:D/
