Re: 690: The Green Ring Conspiracy, Part 12

THAT'S IT?! I liked it, but I think they need another episode! I felt that things weren't wrapped completely up.

I liked those two guys driving the train though...didnt those same two characters play in the pre skits in the old days?!

Re: Parker Family

Shiotani is a Japanese last name. So, at least some of her heritage should be Japanese. :) And I had to comment on the term "oriental"... I realize that historically it wasn't an offensive term, but currently I find it so, and many others do as well... A better phrase would be, "Asian...

I wondered what caused this episode to be put in the "Lost Episodes" album. Any particular reason? I have no idea, except for the fact, it makes the situation even MORE interesting!!!! LOL! I'll just be honest, hearing David and Jonathon say they loved each other...it just made me feel aw...

LOL, JUST REALIZED SOMETHING!!!!!

I recently was talking with my sister, (who like me, grew up with Odyssey, and can quote entire episodes back to me, etc), and I told her about this topic. She was silent for a moment. I then reminded her of several episodes already mentioned in this topic. Her: No...Isaac had a crush on Connie...re...

I completely agree about So Cal being very very diverse. I love that fact as well. I'm just saying that certain words can have different meanings. What may be considered conservative here wouldn't be considered that in other parts of the country. Not to say though that what another part of the count...

Depends on who you associate with... there's still a more conservative minority there. I agree. Are you in So Cal as well? :) A while back, my pastor a group of friends and I were discussing about how the word "conservative" means different things in different parts of the country. The sa...

But that makes it even more confusing that you would go and say "Well, Isaac was in that David and Jonathan episode so he could be considered gay." It makes no sense. I am not saying that. Instead, I am merely saying it isn't interesting that Isaac, of ALL the characters on the program wa...

This makes me curious--if you don't mind (and if you do I certainly understand), could you say where you're from? I am from Southern California. I am considered a conservative here, but I think conservative means something different in other parts of the continent! there isn't really proof Rodney w...

I am fascinated to read all of your replies. It is interesting to get other people's perspective, especially of those who are from different parts of the country/world. I enjoy his character. I think it's wrong that people DO imediately characterize senstitive, soft spoken, or effeminite in anyway b...

And don't even get me started on the whole David/Jonathan thing. There is none, and I mean not one iota of evidence that they were homosexual. Ok, I realize that I might not have made myself clear. I agree, I don't think that David and Jonathan are gay. I do think it is a possiblity, but I agree, t...

yes, i agree with jonathan!

when i was in high school, band was my favorite by far! i think it motivated me to do well in some courses that i otherwise might have failed. plus all my friends were in my music classes.

in college it was my deaf studies and my asian american studies classes. :)

ok, it has nothing to do with being insecure, or having guy friends. many other characters in odyssey have these qualities. it's just his EXTREME admiration for Jack. just the way the dialogue goes, and his behavior, particularly in that episode. also, the fact that he was in the david and jonathan ...

Ok, For those who remember Isaac Morton.....

Do any of you get the feeling that he kind of exhibits gay behavior? I just listened to Isaac the Insecure. I haven't heard this episode in YEARS, and now listening to it as an adult, I feel it is glaringly obvious. I think back to other episodes with Isaac in it...... and yeah... what do you guys t...

you are not alone. it disturbs me too when the rathbones are bad parents to rodney, and the music is still being very comical. i totally agree with you, but i do see the other people's point too. that still not make me feel comfortable when i hear it though. being a teacher myself, and seeing childr...
